PROJECT SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this project is to enhance the use of consumer and service information by integrating the currently-in-place Hoosier Assurance Plan management information systems and building upon the current performance and outcomes measures utilized in the Hoosier Assurance Plan Provider Profile Report Card. Once completed, DMH envisions a managed care information system, the Provider Profile System (PPS), which contains data on consumer demographics and service effectiveness, provider information and specifications, service utilization, consumer evaluation of services received, illness prevalence data, and cost/revenue data upon which mental health and addiction service system policy decisions may be based. First year activities include analysis of the Division’s data system and selection of a vendor to manage the integrated system. In the second year there will be modification of the integrated system, piloting of the system with contracted providers, provider training, continued system modification, and expansion to full implementation of the integrated Provider Profile System.
