TOTAL ALLOCATION FOR FY’ 98: $99,979

PROJECT SUMMARY

This grant will assist Colorado in developing a comprehensive system of performance indicators with the involvement of the stakeholder group, the Performance Indicator and Outcomes (PIO) Committee comprised of a wide array of groups including consumers and families. The Colorado Mental Health Services will work with the PIO Committee to evaluate, pilot, and select a comprehensive set of indicators that can be used to evaluate Colorado’s mental health system. In addition MHS will conduct psychometric equivalency studies to assess comparability between instruments. The MHSIP consumer survey will be conducted with the piloting of additional questions related to cultural competency and dissatisfaction of services. Work with other States will include resolving issues of interstate comparability for indicator definitions, instrumentation, and standardized calculation methods. Newly developed indicators will be in the State Strategic Plan and the State Block Grant Applications.
