GRANT NUMBER: 1 HR1 SM52545-01

FUNDING PERIOD: September 30, l998 - August 31, 2001

TOTAL ALLOCATION FOR FY’ 98: $99,952

PROJECT SUMMARY

Over the three year grant period, the Division will identify and implement mechanisms through which the performance indicators identified in the Five-State Feasibility Study can be collected in an accurate and timely manner. Simultaneously, consumers, providers, and State planning staff will identify additional Rhode Island-specific performance evaluation measures for potential inclusion in our performance monitoring system. These additional measures will be derived from the State Block Grant initiative, state-level continuous quality improvement processes, and ongoing system evaluation design efforts. Remaining definition, coding, and collection issues and data collection will then be addressed. Finally, work with a wide range of stakeholders will result in a design and producing of reports to inform state policy making, planning, and mental health system reform activities. By the end of the three-year period, there will be a single, integrated set of indicators that address Federal requirements, while still providing sufficient detailed data to meet state-level needs.
