PURPOSE:
- to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and methods for using data and information to inform decisions and policies
- to conduct data projects and studies focused on pressing issues to create opportunities for states to develop or test new methodologies
- to identify policy-related issues which require more detailed, formally documented analyses that typically result from information sharing, but which do not lend themselves to the methods or time lines employed in multistate studies
- to inform states of significant trends in mental health policy and decision support, and offer an opportunity for states to engage in dialogue about key issues
- to fund and support training in decision support technology and methods, for example, in the use of information systems and computer software
